piece of hippie nation in hobo slacks
two-faced coin of hacks and flacks
a rose garden whose flowers have died
dessication obvious from the B-side

ice may have kept the flames @bay
but icy hearts do bleed a way
compelled by the scents of IPO wins
every blooded beast we bid awakened

there remains only a slobbery dance
gauntlet of double-click GNP romance
oblivious to sad cesspools of scenery
an ecstatic g-orgy of e-nsanity

let's dance again

now how can i let you
steal some more of my time
when you've already spent
too much time in my mind

your arms slide around mine
i surrender, you win
so i lean my head in
the embrace of our limbs

your arms slide around mine
i surrender, you win
as i lean my head in
let our music begin

desert fox desserts: 10NOV1998

the moon squints down on this battleground,
reflecting critical solar glares
as clouds bolt fire at each other;
grim pantomime of tracers and flares
recalling soldiers who fought, killed, cried
over our desolate desert plane.

taste their ghosts that bellow the windstorm,
beating fearsome tantrums to rouse us
from the reverie that blinds our minds,
ignorant of this pregnant circus;
inky sky steeps in their spirited
passions scattered across Alamein.

inky sky steeps spirited seedlings
scattered insane across Alamein.

history

all of our dreams have fled
leaving only fear and dread
the moon waits in the sky
for the astronauts to die
walls crumbled in berlin
let pandora's flood roll in
politicians caught in lies
line their pockets, swindling lives
our compassion rots in lust
while humanity returns to dust

generic love

though some claim greater beauty
your image stands me transfixed
a tsunami that spears
the trunk of my soul with
                         your name

goaded by your withering flame
i breach reefs of concrete and words
searching your chocolate eyes for a sign
yet seeing none, i need you more

my hands massage around your neck
feeling for release but finding only stone
