Egypt 4 of 6By Alamein, the acquisition crew worked near the mostextensive uncleared minefield remaining from World War II. While we were there, the mine-clearing contractors found around 6 anti-personnel mines and 3 anti-tank mines. If we had gone ahead with the proposed survey extension, they would've had numbers in the hundreds. It was eerie to think that, when picking up military junk collected here, our crews might have been the first people to walk there in over 50 years ! |
